Philippe Mesnard
Professor of Comparative Literature at Université Clermont Auvergne and a member of the Institut universitaire de France (2017–2022; 2022–2027), Philippe Mesnard was director of the Fondation Auschwitz in Brussels from 2010 to 2015. The author of around ten monographs and essays and about a dozen edited volumes, he has notably published Primo Levi, le passage du témoin, a biography (Fayard, Poche Pluriel, 2011, 2019), Les Paradoxes de la mémoire. Essai sur la condition mémorielle contemporaine (2021), and edited the clandestine manuscripts of the Sonderkommandos (Calmann-Lévy and Kimé). Since 2016, he has been editor-in-chief of the print and online journal Mémoires en jeu.
