Michael Freund

Trained as a mathematician, Michael Freund taught at Paris IV University and worked on the applications of logic in the field of cognitive sciences. He published a narrative, "La disparition des Deborah L.", in which he recounts how he came to take an interest in the fate of the ethnologist Deborah Lifchitz, who was arrested and deported in 1942. He is also the author of a novel, "Le puzzle du chat", in which the main character avenges the memory of his father, who had been expelled eighty years earlier from the shop that employed him because he was Jewish.
