Category: Imaginary

In Imaginary, we move beyond simply describing reality to begin to transform it. It includes fictional texts, stories, and fragments, as well as political utopias and bold hypotheses about what Europe, Jewish life, the diaspora, Israel, and minorities might look like tomorrow. Here, Jewishness is not only an object of analysis, it becomes material for invention: ways of replaying exile, reconfiguring politics, reopening general issues of integration at the national, international, and transnational levels – in short, of thinking about other forms of community and justice. Imaginary welcomes these attempts – serious or playful, melancholic or joyful – that take the risk of projecting other possibilities where the present seems to offer only dead ends.
